Szatymaz Pump Track

Description

The Szatymaz pump track has officially been opened — bringing new momentum to the sports scene of the Southern Great Plain region.
At the end of August, Szatymaz inaugurated its newest sports facility: a modern, fully equipped pump track, considered one of the most complex and high-quality biking developments in the region.

During the design process, great emphasis was placed on ensuring that all age groups and skill levels could find their own challenges. The separate children’s track, featuring rounded edges and smaller elements, provides a safe and friendly introduction to the sport. Meanwhile, the main track for more advanced riders includes a tabletop jump, offering opportunities for technical progression and practicing more extreme elements.

The pump track is not only ideal for recreational use but also serves serious sports purposes. According to the members of the AKA BMX Association from Hódmezővásárhely, the facility offers excellent training conditions for preparing in the Olympic discipline of BMX Racing. The size and functional diversity of the Szatymaz track make it particularly outstanding within the southern Hungarian region, where pump track infrastructure is still developing.

The opening event had the atmosphere of a true sports celebration: enthusiastic children immediately took to the track, and spectators enjoyed an impressive demonstration by Kristóf Krausz, Hungarian Olympic BMX Freestyle athlete, along with top riders from the AKA BMX Association. Their showcase was not only entertaining but also inspiring, demonstrating the wide range of possibilities the track offers — from beginner to professional level.

The opening of the Szatymaz pump track represents another significant milestone in boosting local and regional sports life, and it may become a key training ground for future generations of BMX riders.
